Today my good friends Grace
and Natanya were celebrating their 18th birthday, so Martha and I
knew we had to make something special for them. We decided that you
really can't go wrong combining Oreo cookies and brownies, a deliciously good
combination.
First, we placed 24 Oreos in a plastic bag and crushed them with a rolling pin:
Then we mixed a Betty Crocker pre-brownie mix with 1 medium egg, 75ml of water and 30ml of vegetable oil:
Having added our crumbs of Oreo cookies and then stirring it all together, we placed the mixture into a square shape in an oiled baking tray:
We baked our unbelievably gooey mixture encasing the sweet oreo cream centers for about 20-25 minutes at a high temperature (but we kept an eye on them every now and again just incase!)
Then (when we left it to cool for a while), we used a heart/star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts and stars as possible:
And finally, topped with sprinkles and strawberries, these brownies went down a real treat (as you can tell...)
It's actually quite tragic how rarely one
has the time to bake fresh brownies nowadays...
So I say carpe diem, to all you brownie enthusiasts out there.
Live each brownie like it’s your last!
hurrah to finding time to make these and see smiley faces at the sight of them...i love my Bambi baker...it always is a good sign to see someone baking with love....
